Amendment Circular - Academic Staff in School

 



Amendment Circular on Determining the Academic Staff in Schools has been released. 

Education Ministry has amended the Teacher Cadre Circular no 2021/06.

 
Following amendments are made in relation to the subject names stated in Schedule 02 of the Circular No.06/2021 dated 28.04.2021 that has been issued previously in order to determine the cadre for academic staff of a school.

Accordingly, the names of the subjects stated under the Subject No:12.1(ii)
12.1(iii)
12.2(iii)
12.2(iv)
12.2(v)
12.2(vii)
12.2(viii)
12.2(x)
12.2(xi)
12.3(ii)
12.3(xv)
12.3(xvi)
12.10(x)
12.10(xxiii) and 
12.10(xxvi) are hereby amended as stated in the table appended below.

Further, three new subject names under the Subject 
No:12.5(vii)
No:12.5(viii) and
No:12.5(ix) 
are included as depicted in the table given below in place of the subject name Design and Technology which was under the Subject No:12.5(vii) in the circular above referred to. 

As such, the subject names indicated under Subject No:12.5(viii), 12.5(ix) and 12.5(x) have been indicated under Subject No:12.5(x), 12.5(xi) and 12.5(xii) respectively.

The subject Korean Language has been newly included under Subject No:12.8(I) and 12.9(liii) for G.C.E. Advanced Level.

Sinhala Medium Center has been Changed.

Venue of Sinhala Medium Selection Test changed and it will be held at Hewavitharaa Maha Vidyalaya, Rajagiriya.

Open university says the same admission card can be use for sit the Examination.

Short Film Competition for School Students



Applications are invited for the Short Film Competition for school students from Ministry of Education.

Application Closing Date - 18.09.2024

Submission - 23.09.2024
  • To participate in the competition - the application ( Google Form) should be completed before 18.09.2024. 
  • Last date for submission of films - 2024.09. 23 
  • Theme to be Filmed - Benefits of the Right to Information Act Act No.12 of 2016 
  • Movie Running Time – More than 4 minutes, not more than 10 minutes
  • Movie quality - 720 pixel or higher 
  • Imaging media - cameras / mobile phone cameras 
  • The format of the film should be Live . Should not be an animated one

(Two online workshops have been organized for the applicants on two occasions related to the preparation of the short film. The first workshop is on the artistry of the film and the technology used and the second workshop is on to make aware the applicants over the Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016. ) 

Prizes and Certificates 
Short films submitted for the first round and second round will be awarded certificates of participation and prizes and certificates for the first , second and third places will be awarded at the event of International Day for Universal Access to Information - 2024 scheduled to be held on 10.10.2024.
