Fake News on O/L Science Paper

 


Education Ministry says, fake news spread through social media on O/L Science Paper.


Ministry  emphasizes that no decision has been made to award additional marks for the Science paper of the G.C.E. (O/L) examination.

Following the completion of the examination, various rumors and claims have been spreading regarding the allocation of additional marks for certain questions in the Science paper.  

The Ministry of Education has announced that the news circulating on social media that free marks will be given for the GCE Ordinary Level Science subject is fake.

A fake announcement using the name of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations is being circulated on social media.
The announcement states, "This time the question paper has been prepared outside the syllabus, and as a remedy, all students will be given 8 additional marks and the cut-off mark for A passes will be reduced."
The above news is fake. The Ministry of Education's media release states that neither the Department of Examinations nor the Ministry of Education has taken any such decisions.
