Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries & Nutrition of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Quality Management (External) jointly with Sri Lanka Standards Institute (SLSI), Colombo 08.

REQUIREMENTS

The BSc Food Quality Management degree program has been designed for those who are employed in food industry or entrepreneurs of food business any one of the following qualifications. 

1. Pass in GCE(A/L) examination in either Science stream or Technology stream from one sitting And 

Minimum of two (02) years post qualifying experiences in food industry. 

Or Higher National Diploma in Food Technology 

Or Diploma in Food Quality Management 

2. Qualifications other than stated above 1 or recommended by the Board of Study and acceptable to the Senate of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.

DURATION: Three (03) academic years

Ministry of Education has released a special circular regarding the implementation of the New curriculum for grade Five from year 2020. The curriculum, Techers' guides, Text Books and work books currently using for grade V have been revised with effect from year 2020. 

And also the paras 1,6,7,8 and 10 of the Circular No 2008/49 issued under Primary Education Reforms will be revised as well.

This revisions will be effective from 01.01.2020.

Applications are invited from Rajarata University for   Admission of Diploma Holders in Agriculture to Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Degree Programme 2018 /2019

Basic Qualifications

• GCE (A/L) (Old Syllabus): Minimum of four general passes at one sitting for Chemistry, Physics or Agriculture, Zoology and Botany

Or

• GCE (A/L) (New Syllabus): Minimum of three passes at one sitting for Chemistry, Physics or Agriculture and Biology

And

• Full time two (02) year diploma course in Agriculture offered by the government or recognized private institution (minimum total credits 60) or equivalent qualifications

And

• Experience: Minimum of five (05) years research, teaching or field experience in the field of Agriculture in the government or recognized private sector organization after awarding the diploma certificate

Application forms and other details can be obtained from the Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka after a cash payment of Rs.1000/= to the Assistant Bursar, Faculty of Agriculture. Those who wish to obtain application form and other relevant particulars by post, should send a self-addressed stamped envelope of the size 9"x 4" addressed to the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Agriculture along with a Bank Deposit Slip to the value of Rs. 1,000/= written in favor of “Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka”, Account No 008-1-001-4-8565998 held at the Peoples’ Bank, Anuradhapura indicating the applicant’s name and address. Completed applications should be forwarded through the respective Heads of the Institutions or Organization to reach the

National Emblem

The national emblem of Sri Lanka is used by the State of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan government in connection with the administration and government of the country. The current emblem has been in use since 1972 and created under the ideas and guidance of Nissanka Wijeyeratne. At the time, he was Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Chairman of the National Emblem and Flag Design Committee.The designer of the emblem was Venerable Mapalagama Wipulasara Maha Thera, and the artwork was by S. M. Seneviratne.

The emblem features a gold lion passant, holding a sword in its right fore paw (the same lion from the flag of Sri Lanka) in the centre on a maroon background surrounded by golden petals of a Blue Lotus the national flower of the country. This is placed on top of a traditional grain vase that sprouts sheaves of rice grains that circle the border reflecting prosperity.

The crest is the Dharmachakra, symbolizing the country's foremost place for Buddhism and just rule. Traditional Sinhalese heraldic symbols for the sun and the moon form the supporters. Sun and Moon, and Lion depicting Lord Buddha is given less prominence than cart wheel of English Buddhism, so it is in great discordance with National Scriptures.

APPLICATIONS are invited from the Sri Lankan Citizens who are permanent residents of the North Western Province to be recruited to the posts of Grade III of the Management Service Officers Service of the North Western Provincial Council.lt is hereby announced that the above examination will be conducted by the Public Service Commission of North Western Provincial Council in January 2020.

Qualifications

• Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka who is a permanent resident in the territory of the North Western Provincial Council for a period at least 03 years as at closing date of applications. 
• Age 18-35

Closing Date 20.12.2019.

Educational qualifications. 

• Should have passed 06 subjects in less than two sittings with Credit passes for four (04) subjects including Sinhala or Tamil or English Language and Mathematics at the General Certifi cate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination. and 
• Should have passed all subjects (excluding Common General Test and General English) in the same sitting at the General Certifi cate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination. Passing of 03 subjects in the same sitting is suffi cient under the old syllabus.
