2. Dimbulagala Wilayaya MV
3. Thopawewa MV
4. Divulankadawala MV
5. Bakamuna Mahasen MV
6. Muslim MV Polannaruwa
7. Uhana MV  Ampara
8. Henegama MMV - Gampaha will be upgraded to national schools.

The country has about 370 national schools.

PROPOSED NEW NAMES OF UVA PROVINCIAL TAMIL SCHOOLS 

RECOMMENDATION of the Committee appointed on the basis of the number 8/1/3w' u' m' of Cabinet papers approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Uva Provincial Council to consider the proposal made by the Principal’s & School Development Societies to revise the names of the Tamil Medium Schools (without Muslim Schools) under the Uva Provincial Council, the Cabinet Memorandum No. 68/2019 declaring that the names of these Schools should therefore be mentioned in Column three.
