• Squad Drill, Physical Training, Map Reading Field Craft. General Knowledge with current affairs, Regimental Duties, Leadership and Management, Team Building Activities, Personality Development, Positive Thinking Ethics and Manners, Obstacle Course. 
• 4.2 The duration of the course is 45 days. 
• The selected applicants are bound to follow the rules and regulations of National Cadet Corps. 
• The selected applicants should have entered into an agreement and a surety bond with National Cadet Corps. 
• Trainees who complete the course successfully will be commissioned by His Excellency the President of Democratic, Socialist republic of Sri Lanka after completing one-year probationary period.

• Should possess a degree from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. 
• Age: Should not be less than 18 years and not more than 45 years as at 31 May 2019. 
• Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka with an unblemished character and physically & mentally fit, and ready to serve in any part of the Island. 
• Selection will be done through a structured interview. 
• Selected candidates will be appointed as trainees and they will be provided one year training on contract basis and will be paid an all-inclusive monthly allowance of Rs. 20,000.00. 
• After end of the contract period, further extension or absorption to the public service will be subjected to the Government policy decisions.

Fifth “C” Pass can be obtained for any subject.& Three (03) simple passes at the GCE (A/L) Examination not more than Three (03) attempts with 30% marks in the General test in one (01) sitting.

Non Degree Course:

• Pass the GCE (O/L) Examination in not more than Two (02) attempts with Eight (08) Simple Passes and Five (05) “C” passes for Mathematics, Science, English and Sinhala/Tamil in one (01) sitting. Fifth “C” Pass can be obtained for any subject.

Basic Qualifications

• Age - Between 18 - 22 years as on the date of enlistment.
• Height - 5’ 6”.

• GCE (O/L) Examination - Six (06) passes including Sinhala or Tamil at one sitting. 
• Credit passes in any four (04) subjects including English Language.
• Pass in Mathematics (Those who have obtained four credit passes including English Language and a pass in Mathematics in not more than two (02) sittings including the sitting in which they qualified in six subject will be eligible to apply).
• GCE (A/L) Examination - Two (02) passes in GCE (A/L) at one sitting.

Basic Qualifications

• Age - Between 18 - 22 years as on the date of enlistment.
• Height - 5' 2".
