Competition - Integrity Idol 2018 Competition (Honest Government Officials)

Public servants who have displayed integrity in their engagement with the public and those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the integrity of their service are eligible to be nominated as an Integrity Idol. Their conduct should be exemplary and admirable, inspiring others too to take such action. Preference is given to local level officials. Retired officials or those working on a contractual basis are not eligible.

An applicant should,
• be a citizen of Sri Lanka;
• be a current employee working full time in any government office, agency, or department with at least 5 years of service to go before retirement;
• have served in government jobs for at least 5 years at the time of nomination for Integrity Idol;
• have honestly fulfilled his/her duties and responsibilities as a government official/civil servant with integrity;
• not have been convicted of a crime or any kind of misuse of power, or indicted by any state body;
• be open to participating in the campaign and the public voting process, and must abide by the decisions of the panel of judges’ and the outcome of the public voting process;
• be willing to be filmed, with images broadcast on local, national and international media.

Anyone can nominate a candidate or themselves (see Annex A for a sample nomination form). The nomination form

will be made available and collected through the following channels:

• Hand-written and printed forms can be sent by post or delivered to the TISL office at 5/1, Elibank Road, Colombo 05.

Scholarships for International Studies

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Not be more than 45 years of age during application.
Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral programme, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.
Took one of the following English Language Proficiency Test not more than two years before the date of application. The list of tests and minimum scores required are as follows

IELTS Academic Test with a score of at least 6.5; or
TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer based test with a score of at least 230 or interned-based test with a score of at least 92.

TARGET GROUP

Media personnel serving on full time or part time basis in recognized electronic and print media institutions island wide.
Freelance media personnel.
Provincial media personnel.
Web media personnel.

ELIGIBLE EQUIPMENT

Computers (Laptop / Desktop / iPad)
Cameras
Fax machines
Digital recorders
Any other media equipment recommended by the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Should be a media personnel as stipulated above and should have completed 03 years of service.
Maximum age limit should be 60 years.
Should possess Media Accreditation issued by the Department of Government Information
Should not be selected under the Madya Aruna Loan Scheme - 2017.
Annual income should not be less than Rs. 180,000.00.
