2. The teachers who expect to apply for the Bio-science, Physical Science or Applied Science programs should have passed the fi rst Examination of Bachelor of Science (External) Degree Programme held in or after the year 2014. 
3. Should have completed a service period of five years as a teacher as at the last date of receiving applications. Also, the relevant teaching appointment should have been confirmed.

i. Granting permanent and pensionable appointments to the officers, who are able to fulfill the requirements that should be fulfilled for the pension under the Minutes on Pensions, after granting permanent appointments in the above manner. 

ii. Granting permanent appointments under the Employees’ Provident Fund to the officers, who are unable to fulfill the requirements mentioned in i above.

Foundation course in Physics is conducted by the Institute of Physics Sri Lanka (IPSL) for those who lack academic qualifications equivalent to that of a pass in A/L Physics as an entry requirement to the Degree Programmes in Universities.
