Notice to All Pharmacist : Ceylon Medical College Council


Special notice has been released for all pharmacists and Apprentice Pharmacist that the Sri Lanka Student Pharmacy published by the Department of Pharmacology, faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2018 can be purchased from the CMCC Office at Block D of the Faculty of Medicine, Colombo.

The SLSF is priced 500 LKR per copy. It would be advisable for all pharmacists and apprentice pharmacist to have a copy of this book, as it has all the essential details of the most commonly prescribed drugs in State Hospitals in Sri Lanka.

All apprentice pharmacists are strongly advised  to buy a copy and be conversant with the information, provided by the SLSF, which includes Practice Points and Patient advice in addition to the details pertinent to a Formulary.

Applications are invited from eligible Sri Lankans for the award of undergraduate scholarships offered by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the academic year 2019/20. 

Expected number of scholarships is 05

Requirements
  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka. 
  • Should be below 25 years of age on 25.07.2019. 
  • Should have passed all subjects in G.C.E. (A/L) Examination conducted by the Department of Examination, Sri Lanka with subjects relevant to the field applicant intends to apply. 
  • Should possess a good knowledge in English. v) Should be in good health. 
  • Should not be a student registered or following a course at a university, selected by the UGC based on the G.C.E. A/L examination results.

Official Language Exam for Government Servants

Official language Exam for Government Servants (Written & Oral)
Two types of exams. Consist written and Oral. If a person who has qualified second language in G.C.E.O/L should not need to sit for written exam. They can apply for oral exam directly. Each government servant should qualified the level he / she belongs to.

Written Exam
  • The exam will take place twice a year. Applications received till January 31 should face the Exam in March. Applications received till July 31st  should sit the exam in September each year.
  • Exam Fee 500
  • Application should be submitted only via online and results will be published on website only.
Oral Exam
  • After passing written Exam or Passing Second Language in OL Exam can apply
  • Anytime can apply for this Exam in a year
  • Fee
    • Level 1 : 1000
    • Level II : 700
    • Level III : 500
    • Level IV : 300

National Colege of Education Appointments in October


Teaching appointments to over 4,000 Diploma holders who have already completed the National Diploma in Teaching from 19 Colleges of Education are due to be appointed next October.


Interviews for the admission of students based on the results of the 2016 and 2017 GCE Advanced Level Examinations to follow the three year National Diploma in Teaching courses at the National Colleges of Education are currently in the final stages. Accordingly, two teams of 4000 students (8,000 students) will be enrolled in 19 National Colleges of Education throughout the country for various courses conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English in the first week of September.

It is also planned to develop a three year Diploma in Technology to a degree and a National Academy of Technology will be established at Kuliyapitiya to train teachers to teach the technical subject stream.

Open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Tax officers in class III Grade II of provincial revenue service in Central provincial Public Service 2018

recruitment notification on open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of tax officers in class III Grade II of provincial revenue service in Central provincial Public Service 2018 published in the daily newspaper on 29 11 2018 is hereby amended as shown below

the section 9.0 is removed and substituted by the following section
  • One question paper on general knowledge and aptitude test
  • Paper consists of two parts. Each part carries 50 marks. the first part on Aptitude Test, should be answered the first part within 45 minutes and handover. the second part of general knowledge should be answered within the next 45 minutes a minimum of 40 percentage of marks should be obtained for general knowledge in aptitude test to qualify in the examination

GIT Online Exam in October


Commissioner General of Examination Department says This time around 186 000 candidates participated on Online GIT Examination. GIT Exam is a common exam for Grade 12 students from any stream and also for the private candidates. 650 Computer Labs will be used for this practical examination.

Furthermore Commissioner Says the exam will be held 14.October 2019 to 21 October 2019

A Private member bill is to be presented in parliament by Hon. Dr. Wijedasa Rajapashe, MP For Colombo District.

This bill to amend the Holidays Act No 29 of 1971

These are the amendments

  1. No person shall on any Full Moon Poya Day or any Sunday till 3.00 p.m. conduct or caused to be conducted or facilitate for any tuition class for students attending schools at any premises or any location
  2. One thousand offence is increased by 10 000
