Message on OSSD Qualification - Exam Department
Exam Department has released a special notice on Clarification on the Equalization of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) Qualification
We only recognize and equalize the OSSD if it is obtained after a full four-year study
program, completed from Grades 9 to 12. This comprehensive program meets the necessary
standards for equivalency with the local General Certificate of Education Advanced Level
(GCE A/L) Examination
online OSSD courses lasting only 3 to 9 months for those who have
completed (GCE O/L) examination do not meet the established
criteria for equivalency and will not be considered equivalent to the local GCE A/L by the
Department of Examinations
