Message from Open University
This is to bring to your kind notice that an error in calculating the final marks of the LLB Entrance exam has been noted. Therefore, as per the decision made at the 455th , 456th Council Meetings held on 03rd May 2019 and 31st May 2019 respectively and the 371st Meeting of the Senate of The Open University of Sri Lanka held on 21st May 2019, the following decisions were taken regarding the selection test marks of the LLB Degree programme.
(a) The formula for calculating marks that was approved by the Senate must be applied when calculating the marks.
(b) Students who are already registered in the programme cannot be de-registered even though they may not have been selected under the Senate approved formula within the quota allocated to each Regional Centre.
(c) Students who have obtained equal or higher marks under the Senate approved formula than any student currently registered must all be given admission.
The selection of students was done according to the following criteria:
- The marks of all applicants were re-calculated according to the Senate approved formula (which has been given in the LLB Degree Programme student brochure, academic year 2017/2018, published online)
- The applicants who have already been selected and registered in the programme (registered students) were then identified in the revised list
- The lowest total mark obtained by an already registered student was identified centre wise
- All applicants in the revised list who have got a mark equal to or higher than the mark mentioned in (iii) will be admitted to the programme.
- This selection has been done centre wise
